Palm River Trek Gear Carrier Dry 50L
For full day trips, treks and general kit, this is the best bag by a long way. I've picked the 50L as it's the most compact one that can fit a days worth of stuff and stays inconspicuous in the boat. However, the larger ones are just as brilliant and will swallow every bit of kit you've got. And even when heavy it's easy to carry whichever way works best for you. The traditional roll top makes sure the dry stuff you put in...stays dry! As there's nothing worse than a long day on the water only to find that your clothes and towels are just as soggy. Perhaps the best thing about this bag though is it's incredible durability. Made from 600D fabric, in real terms that means it can handle years of whatever you can throw at it, in whatever conditions. It's a real trooper.

2018 Palm Grab 2mm Neoprene Glove
They may seem a simple choice, but that's what makes them so good. Because they're only 2mm thick all over, they are super flexible and fit the hand perfectly meaning you hardly notice you're wearing them. They're also warm enough even though they're so thin as the titanium neoprene really does its job reflecting the heat back in. Another thing that I really like about the Grab glove is how fast it dries, so you avoid that cold, uncomfortable feeling of putting on wet gloves (and also helps them smell less!). All in all, simple but effective and a really great price point.

2018 Yak Kayak Paddle Leash Black
They divide opinion, but we wouldn't be without a paddle leash on the open sea, touring or fishing! As much as we like to deny it, we all take a spill now and then and this cheap and simple accessory could just save a load of trouble and expense. Also useful if you teach or take others out, you can focus on helping them without the extra few seconds (and worry) of safely securing your paddle. The Yak one keeps it simple and therefore keeps the price down, but still offers 100% stretch to 2m, giving you a sensible and safe tangle-free margin and has a really neat attachment loop which just makes life easy no matter your paddle or how you want to attach it to the boat. Forget fumbling with your paddle and letting that fish go, or losing your own paddle because the kids have got stuck rolling each other (again!)
