Durability
First of all, it’s an incredibly durable suit. The Response is built to survive everything you might throw at it, with features including hardwearing blind-stitched seam construction that has been combined with inner waterproof X-Flex taping, which fuses the seams together for additional reinforcement. It also has Powertex4 on the knees for both protection and durability – 4-way stretch panels designed to prevent damage to one of the most commonly scuffed and scraped areas, whilst still enabling full flexibility and extension in the knee.
Flexibility
To ensure maximum comfort and full freedom of movement, the Response uses X-Flex neoprene in the main body, a 150% superstretch neoprene used in all of Gul’s high-performance wetsuits. The latest iteration of X-Flex is 10% lighter than its predecessor, absorbs less water, and has a softer, more comfortable feel. This suit also includes Revo Fit, created using innovative pattern cutting technology to produce a 3D fit that offers a higher level of comfort and has been improved by continuous, intense team rider testing.
Warmth
For extreme insulation, Gul have included Titanium 2 in the main body panels of the wetsuit, which acts like a foil survival blanket, reflecting body heat back towards you and preventing heat from escaping the suit. On the back panel there is FX:Lite, a silky smooth, hydrophobic material that protects from windchill whilst being made with more air cells to increase insulation and simultaneously decrease the weight of the suit. This is combined with mesh panels on the chest and back, which further prevents windchill by absorbing solar heat and reducing evaporative cooling.
